Humility is only your true understanding and awareness of yourself as you really are.
There are two causes. One is your weaknesses and failures that, no matter how holy, you will always experience in life. The other is the love and greatness of God, besides which all men are fools and at the sight of which all saints are blinded.
Your weaknesses and failures will pass away. But the second, Gods love, will last forever and is the cause for perfect humility.
Be careful to make the greatness of God the object of your contemplation on humility, rather than your own faults.
If you are perfectly humble you will lack nothing.
